This stud has a simple o-ring fastening - silicone ring pushes onto earring post like a traditional scroll closure. The great thing about this style of backing is that you can adjust the fit to suit your ear so you don't need to worry about the bar not being the exact right length. There is also no extra fitting to dig into the back of your ear which can sometimes be a problem. You need to add 2-3mm extra to the length of the post to fit the backing on securely. You will also receive a spare o-ring, and a tiny tube back which is super secure so see which you prefer.
