Teal is another ultra rare colour of sea glass, with only a single chance in every 2500 pieces to discover it. Its unique blue green colour was difficult to consistently create across batches of glass, so it wasn’t used for a wide variety of items. Small amounts of cobalt and iron were used to create teal shades. Not much teal glass was produced after the early 1900s, so teal glass is likely to be over 100 years old. It was historically used in a variety of containers such as ink bottles and mineral water bottles.
